Week 4 of the NFL delivered a series of unexpected performances in the fantasy football world. With discarded quarterbacks Justin Fields, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold leading the charge. These quarterbacks, often overlooked or shuffled between teams, lit up the fantasy leaderboards, providing plenty of fireworks for managers who took a chance on them.
Justin Fields dominates despite loss
Justin Fields, who used to be a backup quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, had the best fantasy performance of the week. He scored 31.98 points, even though his team lost to the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 27-24.
Fields is good at both passing and running the ball. In the past two weeks, he has scored three rushing touchdowns which is a notable achievement like receiving a huge reward from Bhaggo App.
He also has a good connection with wide receiver George Pickens. However, the Steelers’ running game has been struggling. Their running back, Najee Harris, only ran for 19 yards on 13 carries. It is not clear what Fields’ future will be with the Steelers after this loss.
Baker Mayfield rebounds with impressive performance
Baker Mayfield, who has played for three different teams in the past few years, is thriving with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Week 4, he had a great game, throwing for 347 yards and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing). His team won the game against the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 33-16. Mayfield was the third-highest scoring quarterback of the week, with 28.88 fantasy points.
Mayfield has good chemistry with wide receiver Mike Evans. Evans had a good game too, catching 8 passes for 94 yards and 1 touchdown. Chris Godwin also played well, catching 6 passes for 69 yards. The Buccaneers will play Atlanta and New Orleans in the next few weeks. Mayfield looks like he will continue to be a good fantasy quarterback.
Sam Darnold efficient in vikings victory
Sam Darnold, who was not wanted by the Jets or the Panthers, played well for the Minnesota Vikings. They won the game against the Green Bay Packers by a score of 31-29. Darnold did not throw the ball very much because the Vikings were winning early in the game. However, he threw three touchdown passes and had a good average of 9.8 yards per attempt. He scored 28.9 fantasy points, which was more than Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Love threw for 379 yards and four touchdowns, but he also threw three interceptions.
Darnold will play against the New York Jets’ defence in Week 5. The Jets have a good defence. However, Darnold has good players to throw to, such as Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, and Justin Jefferson. Darnold could be a good fantasy quarterback in the future.
Other week 4 highlights: Some did well, others didn’t.
Nico Collins, who plays for the Houston Texans, had a great game. He caught 15 passes for 151 yards and 1 touchdown. Even though Tank Dell is coming back, Collins is still a very important part of the Texans’ offence.
D’Andre Swift, who plays for the Chicago Bears, also had a good game. He had 165 total yards and 1 touchdown. However, not many fantasy football managers started him because he only started in 29% of Yahoo leagues.
Jayden Reed, who plays for the Green Bay Packers, is also doing well. He caught 7 passes for 139 yards and 1 touchdown. He is getting better and will have good matchups against the Rams and Cardinals.
Najee Harris, who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is not doing well. He has not scored a rushing touchdown in four games. The Chicago Bears’ passing game is also not doing well. Caleb Williams, their quarterback, only threw 23 passes and did not have good results from his receivers.
As we saw in Week 4, fantasy football can be unpredictable. Sometimes, the quarterbacks who are not very popular can be the best players.
Week 4 fantasy football is full of surprises
Week 4 of the NFL showed us that fantasy football can be very unpredictable like slot games at Bhaggo Casino. Quarterbacks who were not wanted by their old teams, like Justin Fields, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold, played well. They were some of the best fantasy players of the week. This shows that it is important to be open-minded and take chances on players who might not be popular.
