At its conclusion, Sudharsan signalled with two thumbs up signs before doing a fist pump and receiving an embrace from captain Vijay Shankar as everyone stood to applaud him from within his dugout.
Tushar Deshpande soon dismissed him for 103 off only 51 balls, becoming the fastest Indian to reach 1000 runs in IPL history. When domestic season resumes next week, this score may well improve further.

Additionally, former Mumbai batsman Ajinkya Rahane also remained at the crease for an extended period and contributed significant runs towards their side’s scoreboard.
After an inauspicious start, CSK suffered two early openers before Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali helped steady their ship by adding 109 runs at a crucial rate as anchors for an unlikely chase after losing both openers in quick succession.
Mitchell hit several fours before reaching his half-century, leading GT to an impressive total. His hitting was hard and long with accurate strikes using pace of pitch effectively; additionally he hit several sixes as well.
He achieved his fifty off 27 balls. Even while suffering cramps at times, the right-hander managed to play the long innings with ease and will likely play an integral role for India in the T20 World Cup tournament as well.
Gujarat had started the match off strongly, scoring more than 10 runs per over in their opening three overs before losing both Gautam Gambhir and Sai Sudharsan/Tushar Deshpande early.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane were brought in as openers for CSK but failed to raise their game quickly, both being removed after some poor shots at leg-side and short midwicket respectively. Gaikwad also played poorly and was caught at cow corner, replaced by Shubman Gill shortly thereafter.
Moeen Ali’s half-century
Moeen Ali has been one of the most consistent performers for England over recent times, starting his career with Durham before progressing through English cricket to become a key member of their squad and leading them into many winning campaigns – such as leading them in winning matches in 2024 World Cup! Additionally, Moeen is an outstanding T20 player and captained them at this event as well.

Furthermore, his impressive performances in IPL matches have cemented him into regular team squad.
After an uneven start to the season, Tushar has found his rhythm. In just three games for Chennai Super Kings he has taken 13 wickets at an impressive rate and shown signs that he may be back to his best form – providing excellent late wicket taking at crucial times while keeping batsmen honest throughout.
He was brought in as replacement for injured bowlers Deepak Chahar and Simarjeet Singh, however has yet to have the same impact. Struggling with injuries throughout the season but excelling against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi in his final two matches was testament to that fact.
Deshpande’s pace has not been consistent with his previous seasons, which could account for his difficulties maintaining consistency. He can learn much from experienced teammates like Mohit Sharma and Deepak Chahar who are at the top of their game.
CSK still have an excellent chance at reaching the final. Their strong batting lineup should enable them to score around 250 against Gujarat Titans; if they want to win this match they will require two spectacular performances from each of their top four batters in order to triumph on an extremely difficult pitch like Ahmedabad’s surface; it will be intriguing to witness their batsmen negotiate this test of strength as an ensemble unit.
