Tyson Fury vs Usyk

Fury scores with an uppercut that causes Usyk to back off as Fury wobbles from side-to-side in his corner. Usyk attempts a finish here but is denied it by referee Mark Nelson due to Fury’s wobbliness and wobble.

Fury overestimated Usyk in this fight and his form began to decline dramatically in Round 9. As such, their rematch has become an event not to miss. In this article, we will discuss the main rounds of tyson fury vs usyk.

Round 1

As Usyk continues to push forward, they battle close round as Fury was caught with a looping left hook at the end of round one and Usyk opened round two with an impressive two-punch combination.

But Fury has begun boxing more intelligently, using in-and-out movement and punctuating exchanges with his jab and hard right uppercut. Additionally, he lands double left hooks as Usyk walks back, leaving himself open for the iconic right hand right from Fury.

Fury stuns Usyk with an uppercut right to his jaw that causes him to cover up for an instant before quickly recovering and continuing his taunting of Usyk, landing one-twos to the body and landing a right uppercut that drops Usyk hard. Fury likely wins this round but any fight could turn either way!

Round 2

Oleksandr Usyk started round two with an aggressive combination and pressure, drilling Fury to the body before landing a hard right uppercut that sent shockwaves through the crowd.

Fury countered well, using his signature jabbing style to avoid and punch from distance. A massive left hook to Fury’s body caught Usyk off guard but the latter appeared to dominate most of their exchanges.

“The Gypsy King” scored several powerful blows in round four, but round nine proved decisive as Ukraine’s Usyk unleashed 14 straight punches that resulted in the knockdown that sealed his split decision victory and won him newfound respect from both fighters – most likely seeing them face each other again next October, provided Fury uses his rematch clause.

Round 3

After an initially slow start, Fury seems to have settled in and is working effectively behind his jab. He lands an uppercut to Usyk’s head before landing a straight right that hits hard against Usyk’s jaw.

Usyk’s left hand has begun to penetrate Fury’s guard, forcing him to fight hard just to keep him at bay. Usyk attempts to put pressure on, but Fury’s combination lands to the body and discombobulates him.

Usyk is more effective than many give him credit for, as his relentless forward pressure is hurting Fury even if big shots don’t always land. Overall a solid round for Usyk.

Round 4

Now into the fourth round, an active Fury is beginning to score with his jab and land some solid uppercuts. Meanwhile, Usyk continues his lateral head movement but finds less success when attacking Fury’s body; occasionally landing overhand lefts but they no longer appear as effective against him as earlier rounds.

Fury showcases his superior reach with some solid body shots, yet can’t make powerful strikes connect. Instead, he allows himself to be backed into the ropes. Fury attempts an uppercut but is again pushed back; Usyk had another good round but Fury rallied well at the last minute and managed to win this one; though to stay alive he must keep being more aggressive and win both rounds afterwards for any chance at redemption in this fight.

Round 5

Usyk was able to successfully negotiate Fury’s seven-inch reach and land crisp southpaw jabs to the body, throwing combinations, looking the crowd in the eye, and even tickling him with water spray into his face to draw laughter from them.

Usyk was victorious in an intense and entertaining round, landing a punishing left uppercut upstairs and stalking Fury with hard lefts to the body. Fury fought hard but seemed exhausted, attempting to close the distance by throwing combinations but failing to close any.

Both fighters are visibly exhausted as their pace has slowed dramatically. Usyk remains resilient with his remarkable recovery powers keeping him off of the canvas, yet needs a knockout to retain his belts. One judge currently favors Usyk by 115-112 while two have him ahead by 114-113.

Round 6

Oleksandr Usyk began turning the fight around in round 8 by aggressively counterpunching and pinning Fury against the ropes. Additionally, Usyk began landing powerful shots to Fury’s head that left him reeling and gasping for air.

Usyk scored a split decision victory to become the inaugural undisputed heavyweight champion of the four belt era. Fury was stripped of his IBF title following Usyk’s win, and will face him once more on Dec 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury stated after losing their first fight that he will be more focused in their rematch against Usyk. As evidence of this claim he pointed to his two rematches with Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder (in which he knocked both out) as examples that prove this claim; both these fights would later be streamed live on DAZN Pay-Per-View subscription service with over 150 fights annually across boxing, MMA and crossover sports!

Round 7

Usyk delivers an offensive right hand and batters Fury during their exchanges, which leave him gasping in pain. Fury gets hit in the face from Usyk and appears stunned and reeling backwards in pain as Usyk connects a right hook upstairs which knocks him to his knees.

Fury attempts to reduce distance through smart punches and stalk his wounded rival. Though he misses an uppercut attempt, Fury still manages to land heavy blows to the body with ease.

This fight proved more competitive than many fans had expected. According to Compubox, Fury outlanded Usyk in rounds 1, 5, and 6. However, by round 7, jabs landed were even with Usyk landing one more power punch than Fury. Round 11 was close-fought but I gave Fury an edge due to his work in the opening half of that round. Unfortunately for him though, he wore down too quickly in later rounds and faded badly; therefore coming in heavier is essential for their rematch.

Round 8

Fury attempts to utilize his height and reach advantage, yet struggles to break through Usyk’s staunch defense. A hard left hook from Usyk connects with authority and starts wearing down Fury’s defenses.

Fury’s legendary resilience is being put through its paces as Usyk steps up his pressure. A hard left hook causes a cut under Fury’s troublesome right eye.

Fury’s body shots are beginning to wear down but he remains composed as he looks for an opening. A hard left hook from Usyk connects flush in his ribs – another strike from his opponent that could swing this round either way.

Round 9

Fury delivers some hard shots but he struggles to close the distance with Usyk. Usyk begins pressing forward aggressively and digging hard against Fury’s body.

Fury seems more assured in the ninth round. He connects with an uppercut that seems to hurt Usyk, yet Usyk still manages to recover quickly from any punch that lands.

Usyk tried to close the distance and bombard Fury with big shots, landing several hard blows which sent him reeling backwards on ropes but stopped him from falling to canvas. At one point it appeared as though Usyk might win but Usyk unleashed several vicious counter shots rocking Fury and forcing him into corner.
