KKR vs SRH Live Score

KKR have recently held an edge against SRH and will look to keep up their winning streak at home. Meanwhile, SRH are struggling with their batting performance and must improve all aspects of their game in order to avoid further slippage in the table.

Last time these two sides met at Eden Gardens, KKR won by 80 runs to Ajinkya Rahane’s delight and Ajinkya Rahane will hope his side can turn around their fortunes following an unimpressive start.

The pitch has slowed considerably from what it normally would, which may present batsmen with some difficulty. But KKR have bowlers capable of adapting to such conditions – Harshal Patel, Moeen Ali and Varun Chakaravarthy amongst them all are pace bowlers capable of dealing with such conditions.

In the Powerplay, KKR’s fast bowlers took three quick wickets to put SRH on the backfoot despite Andre Russell’s fantastic innings; and never looked like making an impressive comeback.

KKR maintained pressure throughout the middle overs, with Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine picking up crucial wickets to put pressure on SRH’s top-order and making life difficult for their batsmen – an effort which eventually cost them dearly because of some fielding lapses that cost KKR dearly.

After an underwhelming performance against RCB, Ajkya Rahane may opt to make changes in his team. Travis Head may be replaced with Kamindu Mendis while Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen may miss out.

Defending champions have struggled with their batting this season and must work to find their groove before the end of the campaign. Their chance lies with taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad at home.

Pat Cummins won the toss and made an intelligent decision when selecting to bowl first after winning it from Sunil Hogan at Eden Gardens on Monday evening. South Riding are struggling when losing toss away games; therefore a win against KKR would help SRH recover after an embarrassing showing against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

KKR are hoping to return from defeat against Mumbai Indians and will face another tough test against Sunrisers Hyderabad, fellow finalists from last season. Sunrisers began the season strong by posting an unprecedented score of 286, but have struggled since, failing to defend mediocre totals and suffering top-order collapses from Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma among others.

This match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and start at 7 pm IST. At 7 pm IST a coin toss will take place and the captain who wins will decide whether to bat first or bowl first; due to rain forecasted for Kolkata the decision between bat or bowl could prove crucial.

In their last meeting between these two sides, Sunrisers Hyderabad triumphed by an emphatic eight wicket margin and will hope to replicate that performance against a side with such an excellent home record as SRH.

Quinton de Kock has led KKR’s batting to success this season, but their bowling has fallen short; they have struggled to contain opposition batsmen and their lack of pace has been highlighted in both of their losses so far this year.

Mohammad Shami and Pat Cummins have led the SRH bowling unit, yet have struggled to establish themselves early in matches. Additionally, their top-order batsmen Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma haven’t managed to convert early starts into significant scores.

Aniket Verma’s rise has been one of SRH’s few bright spots this season; his cricket mind and skill behind the wicket have impressed everyone at home team SRH, while his brilliant innings against Mumbai provided further evidence that they rely heavily on him for survival this season.

KKR vs SRH Live Updates

SRH’s disappointing start to the season has been an emotional setback, so they will be eager to bounce back against KKR. A loss would see SRH slide further towards the bottom while victory would elevate them up the table and push them up to fifth position. Unfortunately for them though, key players have been injured thus making Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head vital players who can help steer SRH back into contention.

Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first at Eden Gardens. While it appeared flat and dry, which may benefit KKR spinners such as Mohammad Shami and Kamindu Mendis’ spin bowlers, their bowlers struggled to contain run rates as both conceded many runs during their opening spells.

At 106/4 in the 13th over, KKR required someone to step forward and lead. That was exactly what Venkatesh Iyer did – scoring an unbeaten 60 off 29 balls, supported by Rinku Singh who struck two sixes and fours during his short cameo to help KKR post an impressive 200/6 score.

Vaibhav Arora of KKR bowlers then took charge, collecting three wickets off four overs to dismantle SRH’s top order and set the stage for an 80-run win.

Andre Russell delivered late in the innings by taking a spectacular catch off his own bowling to dismiss Harshal Patel for just 2. KKR then completed their one-sided victory to exact revenge for their 2024 final loss.

As they take to Eden Gardens for this matchup resembling last year’s final, both teams will feel an air of deja vu. After being humbled by RCB in their opening match, KKR are eager to return to winning ways; and SRH look to comeback from defeat against Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals respectively. With their formidable batting lineups they should put up decent scores; however they need to become more aggressive on field as well as improve bowling ruthlessness; yet Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead them all in an important game!
