KKR vs PBKS

KKR’s dominance over PBKS is no secret, yet their fierce rivalry provides thrilling tactical cricket action and high-risk drama.

Both sides bring different styles into play – with KKR relying heavily on strategic depth and bowling strength while PBKS responds with aggressive batting power to produce exciting edge-of-your-seat entertainment that keeps fans riveted to their screens.

PBKS began their 2025 season with a dispiriting loss to Delhi Capitals, but with a new captain and revamped squad they quickly returned into contention for playoff spots.

Winning four out of six matches and making it into the top four before being denied access to finals due to an unfortunate washout.

Inclement weather in Kolkata led to the cancellation of match 44 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and PBKS, leaving both teams tied on one point each; as such, their fourth place tie with Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore is now uncertain; their recent form also suggests shifting momentum among them.

A win for KKR would propel them into fifth place, one point behind Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and one ahead of Mumbai Indians; they would need to win all eight remaining matches if they want a chance in the playoffs.

Eden Gardens offered variable bounce and seamed 0.5 degrees below average. Batsmen attacked anything short and wide with equal intent, yet once wickets fell the ball began swerve wildly as batsmen lost wicket. Priyansh Arya found deep square leg while Shreyas Iyer got trapped lbw by deliveries that seemed short – this happened multiple times with Prabhsimran Singh caught lbw off what appeared as short deliveries.

PBKS had a slow start but their newly acquired aggression helped them reach a respectable total of 157 runs in their opening innings.

Marcus Stoinis scored an unbeaten 89, but early wickets fell before KL Rahul made up for them with another excellent innings to avoid wipeout. While disappointed about being washed out, the team found inspiration in their battling performances both on the field and track and will look to continue making strides in subsequent weeks.

KKR vs RCB

These two teams have met 34 times during the IPL, with KKR holding an advantage with 21 wins to 14 for RCB.

After winning both their opening matches with ease, KKR are eager for another quick start while RCB must rebound after suffering their first major setback against Mumbai Indians. The match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata starting at 7:30 pm.

KKR made an emphatic start to their 2018 Indian Premier League season at Eden Gardens in Kolkata by crushing RCB.

A stunning bowling performance by new signings and veteran Dinesh Karthik limited RCB batsmen to just 174 runs before Phil Salt’s aggressive half century and captain Virat Kohli’s brilliant unbeaten 71 not out helped KKR reach their target with seven wickets remaining.

Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn opened for KKR with centuries, placing their team on the right path at the start. Together they scored 105 runs in the powerplay alone, setting off their innings even further thanks to Andre Russell who went unbeaten on 78 off 45 balls batting at number four.

Losses by KC Cariappa and Harshit Rana hindered RCB, but Krunal Pandya’s three-for ensured their run chase remained within control thanks to Josh Hazlewood and Dayal providing death bowling at crucial stages in the chase.

Phil Salt and Virat Kohli of RCB both made important contributions, but Rajat Patidar took centre stage with an outstanding 16-ball 34 to secure KKR their fifth win of the season and remain at the top of the league table. Additionally, this match marked 18 years of IPL competition – to commemorate this special occasion, all players and officials came out onto stage together and cut a cake before singing national anthems in celebration. All in all it was an unforgettable day for their franchise that they will look to build upon in future matches!

KKR vs MI

The Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders rivalry is one of the most heated in IPL. Both teams have played some thrilling matches against one another and boast dedicated fan bases.

These two sides have faced each other 34 times so far with MI having taken an upper hand by winning 23 matches in total. Here is a glimpse at some key matchups between both sides.

At Eden Gardens in Kolkata, KKR defeated MI by 34 runs to claim victory in their inaugural match this season. Both teams have had impressive starts to their respective campaigns and appear poised for playoff contention.

KKR had been struggling for some time, but since 2022 they have made a remarkable turnaround and become one of the best teams in the league.

Their roster features both experienced players as well as up-and-coming young talent that’s becoming stars; furthermore they made smart investments at auction by purchasing veterans like Brendon McCullum and Sunil Narine who can bring valuable experience.

Hardik Pandya of Mumbai Indians took an aggressive tack after winning the toss and selecting to bowl first at Wankhede Stadium, known for high-scoring games. His decision paid dividends as Deepak Chahar (2/19), Trent Boult (1/23) and Hardik Pandya (1/10) took quick wickets that reduced KKR score to 137/8.

But KKR decided to press forward with their aggressive approach, knowing the pitch would provide them an opportunity for chase.

Although they lost two early wickets, they kept attacking and scored some big hits before hoping that Ashwin might dismiss Rinku Singh and Manish Pandey before they could form any comeback attempt in the 11th over.

KKR were left needing 163 runs to win, yet still managed to do it thanks to an incredible performance by Suryakumar Mithun who hit two sixes and an uppercut over midwicket to complete their win.

KKR vs SRH

KKR vs SRH matches are some of the most eagerly anticipated of any Indian Premier League season. Their rivalry spans years, making these matches truly compelling to watch.

Both sides have experienced their fair share of dominance throughout their history; fans always eagerly anticipate when these teams face each other again! Their head-to-head record has always been close and has produced numerous memorable encounters between them.

The Kolkata Knight Riders is an Indian T20 cricket franchise owned and run by Shah Rukh Khan that was founded in 2009; since its foundation it has won 100 matches under the slogan ‘Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo’ (Perform, Fight, Win). Some notable players include Gautam Gambhir, Sunil Narine and Dinesh Karthik amongst many others.

KKR kicked off their season strong, winning six of their initial seven matches. Since then however, the team has found it tough to maintain this form and has lost four out of the last five contests; so, against an ever-improving SRH team they will look to rebound quickly and return to form.

In the opening over of their innings, SRH took three wickets and limited KKR to 13 runs – an excellent start by their hosts that seemed likely to seal an easy victory. Unfortunately for them though, slow batting performance from their visitors eventually saw them fall short of their target score.

With only five overs remaining, SRH were still poised to post an impressive total. They had every chance of reaching their target, yet their top-order capitulated. Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen both played admirably in opening positions but their aggressive approach failed to pay dividends on a pitch that offered something for bowlers.

At auction, KKR retained Robin Uthappa and Piyush Chawla while purchasing Kuldeep Yadav using their Right to Match card. They also picked up several uncapped players such as Cameron Delport, Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh for uncapped positions. In the transfer window alone, several signings were also made including Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and South African all-rounder Javon Searles.
