D’Angelo Ponds
D’Angelo Ponds is a cornerback on the Indiana Hoosiers football team. Last season he started 15 of 16 games he appeared in and led them in tackles, pass breakups and forced fumbles while earning second team All-American honors and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Additionally he became only the second Hoosier since Omar Cooper in 2022 to be selected in the top 50 of draft selections, becoming only cornerback ever taken that high since over half a century ago!
In his inaugural season with Indiana, he assisted them in reaching their best finish since 1993 and winning their first Old Oaken Bucket since 2001.
Additionally, he made his Insight Bowl debut. For all this success on-field and beyond, he was recognized with both consensus all-American honors as well as being nominated as a finalist for the Shaun Alexander Award.
Indiana is a proud member of the Big Ten Conference and plays its home games at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Since 1892 when its football program first started up, several coaches have left an imprint in Hoosier history and their legacy.
Purdue and Indiana have long had an intense rivalry. Each team competes for the Old Oaken Bucket trophy, designated a protected series when Big Ten split into divisions in 2014. Each year they meet and compete against one another at the BB&T Kickoff Game.

Kaelon Black
Black is an aggressive running back with good size and above-average strength as a runner. He tends to hit holes hard with heavy gas pedals and physicality when hitting them, falling forward for yards as he gains momentum through contact. Furthermore, his lateral quickness allows him to catch the ball efficiently as well.
Black has been an indispensable player for Indiana this season. He rushed for over 100 yards three of five games and was instrumental in their victory over Nebraska at the 2025 Pinstripe Bowl. Additionally, Black is an effective receiving threat, catching two passes for 27 yards.
Black was born October 17, 2001 in Virginia Beach and attended Salem High School there where he played both football and basketball before transferring to James Madison University as a starting running back for two seasons.
Over 56 games overall with 16 starts played (rushing 2,595 yards with 17 touchdowns), 55 receptions totaling 528 yards in the air (528 total), as well as seven special team tackles made and signed by San Francisco 49ers at 2026 NFL Draft (59th pick overall).
Bryce Boettcher
Bryce Boettcher is an inside linebacker who attended Oregon for his entire collegiate career, where he excelled with outstanding range to rush the quarterback from almost anywhere on the field and fearlessness when rushing downhill or attacking blockers.
