India returns from their long break to face Bangladesh in three T20 matches under Rohit Sharma in three-match T20 series, hoping to redeem themselves following a disappointing loss against Sri Lanka last time out.
India openers Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag will look to rebound after having made an inauspicious debut against Sri Lanka last month. As the India national cricket team vs Bangladesh national cricket team players prepare for the upcoming match, both Samson and Parag will aim to showcase their skills and make a stronger impact.

Indian cricket began their 2019 campaign in style by dominating both Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in T20 series before travelling to Bangladesh where they easily won one T20I by 50 runs before returning home for more T20s in New Delhi and Hyderabad respectively.
India will rely heavily on their experienced spinners to achieve success in Bangladesh. Ravichandran Ashwin proved his worth with six wickets attained during the first Test against them and allowed India to secure an early lead against them.
He shared in a 199-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja to help his side post 376 on the board, while their opponents were dismissed for only 149 runs in their second innings to seal an easy win for their side.
Mohammad Siraj of India should cause problems for Bangladesh batsmen as well. His impressive showing against them in the first Test will hopefully see his side complete an unblemished sweep in this series.
Riyan Parag and Hardik Pandya will be instrumental to India’s success; both players must deliver big innings while providing quick firepower for India’s top order.
India’s batting unit will be led by veterans Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, both players have shown tremendous form with the bat and are looking forward to building on their recent displays.
Litton Das will be Bangladesh’s primary weapon in this series against India and is likely to thrive under pressure with his excellent strokeplay and pressure-putting abilities. After being instrumental in their Test series win against Pakistan last year, Litton Das will look to recreate similar heroics against India this time. Mustafizur Rahman could also prove pivotal – his fast bowler has game-changing capabilities that could turn things around for Bangladesh, currently ranking lowly but hoping to improve their performances via this series against India despite both teams currently being in good form at present despite this series being difficult to predict due both teams possessing good forms at present!
Bangladesh’s squad for 3 T20Is against India:
Litton Das (c), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (wk), Nazmul Hossain Shanto (wk), Rubel Hossain (wk), Mushfiqur Rahman
India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead against Bangladesh in their three-match T20 series after winning both games at Gwalior and Delhi. Though Bangladesh possess some exciting players, they lack experience playing this format while India boast a well-balanced squad which can prove dangerous when put in the right hands.
Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have returned for this series after recovering from injury, replacing Shakib Al Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon respectively. Both players add strength to the visiting batting lineup and should play key roles. In contrast, Sabbir Rahman and Nazmul Hossain Shanto have struggled thus far as middle order batsmen for Bangladesh.
Ajay Jadeja was left off of the squad as he struggled to maintain his form during the initial two T20Is. However, Indian spinner will aim to turn things around when his next match takes place on November 10 in Basseterre.
Sanju Samson will likely step in for Ajay Jadeja after an underwhelming outing against Zimbabwe in T20Is, and will have much to prove following an inconsistent display in T20Is against that country. While he possesses the ability to score big runs, his consistency needs some work. Abhishek Sharma made history against Zimbabwe when he scored a century at the top of the order against them; hopefully Abhishek can replicate that form alongside Samson as they try and keep up their momentum against Zimbabwe T20Is as well.
The Delhi game featured an outstanding display from Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson opening for their respective sides before Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag and Washington Sundar taking important roles for them respectively in spinner duties. Spinner Washington Sundar will play an essential part in this matchup.
Mayank Yadav has been selected by India for three T20Is against Bangladesh starting October 6th. The 21-year-old pacer achieved speeds in the mid-150s during IPL 2024 and will provide much-needed freshness in their attack. Also joining him are Nitish Kumar Reddy and Harshit Rana as batsmen while wicket-keeper Jitesh Sharma and all-rounder Arshdeep Singh completes the 15-man squad.
India’s squad for 3 Tests against Bangladesh:
Suryakumar Yadav (c), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube
India will look to continue their positive streak when they face Bangladesh for 13 Test matches between the two sides, leading the series 11-1 with India holding an edge with 11 wins so far. Bangladesh have not visited India for a Test series since 2008.
Ravichandran Ashwin will look to build upon his impressive T20I performance against Sri Lanka by leading India in three-match T20I series against South Africa and UAE. Ashwin’s incredible form has been key in contributing to India’s recent successes and Ashwin has been an instrumental part of India’s success story.
India and Bangladesh will begin their T20I series against each other beginning October 6 in Gwalior with match 2 taking place October 9 in Delhi; then concluding on October 12 in Hyderabad. Both teams hope that victory here can secure their position for qualifying to the 2024 World Cup qualifiers, so any victory here would be pivotal in reaching that goal.
Even without some key players, Bangladesh are still an impressive squad and won’t go down easily in this matchup. Coming off an emphatic 2-0 drubbing of Pakistan in their previous fixture, they shouldn’t be taken lightly and feature some talented young stars such as Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz who have recently shown they belong in international cricket.
Rohit Sharma will look to maintain India’s winning streak in this format with Hardik Pandya looking to add further accolades to his already impressive record in this format.
On Thursday at 1:15 PM IST, Rohit Sharma will hold a press conference before playing against India on Jio TV and the Jio app. You can watch live coverage of this event.
