As Diwali fireworks lit up M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul scored centuries to help India amass 410 runs in the first half.

But the bowlers kept decimating Netherlands’ batting. Even as Scott Edwards and Max ODowd scored fifties, Jasprit Bumrah took wicket after wicket to keep Netherlands at bay. In this article, we will discuss about the matches of India national cricket team vs netherlands national cricket team match scorecard.

India vs Netherlands

India’s batsmen have done well against Netherlands bowlers so far, with KL Rahul’s 104-ball innings setting them on their way towards winning this match. Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer also quickly scored runs, taking India past 400 while disrupting Netherlands’ bowlers who have given away 126 runs in four overs so far.

At M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, both sides will be looking to secure a spot in the semi-finals of this tournament. As hosts are currently sitting atop of their table and will look to win comfortably without any setbacks; on the other hand, Dutch have struggled a little and hope to pick up a victory to avoid finishing in last place.

After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bat first and was joined in the middle by Shubman Gill. They started well, with Rohit sweeping two fours from Aryan Dutt’s first over and Logan van Beek keeping things tight until Gill hit a six over long-on for relief.

The Dutch bowlers attempted to contain India’s top order with ease in the second over, but were undone by some effective shots from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul’s batsmen – Virat hit two fours and sixes, while KL Rahul contributed two scores as well.

Jadeja and Kuldeep managed to keep the run-rate under control while each taking one wicket apiece. Jasprit Bumrah proved most impressive among Indian pacers by bowling multiple wicket-taking overs that yielded three for 28 wickets at the end of the day.

India needs only to win this matchup to move onto the semi-finals of Champions Trophy and send Netherlands into Challengers Trophy competition. Their final league stage match-up will take place Sunday at M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru at 2:30 PM IST and should conclude the day’s action.

India won by 160 runs

Indian bowlers did an admirable job of keeping Netherlands scores under par. Jasprit Bumrah (2-33) and Mohammed Siraj (2-29) shared four wickets as Jasper Smidth bowled them out for 250 runs in 47.5 overs.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. After an uncertain start, he quickly found his groove, reaching 50 off 56 balls – matching Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most 50+ scores at once in one World Cup tournament – while becoming fastest to do it. KL Rahul added an excellent 66 runs before Shreyas Iyer powered India past 400 runs with another solid performance.

Shubman Gill also played well, hitting several sweeps and lofted shots before hammering a six. When he reached fifty, cheers broke out at Chinnaswamy Stadium when Roelof van der Merwe removed him in 29th over.

Dutch batsmen struggled throughout their innings. Alexei Kervezee and Darron Reekers fell early, while Ryan ten Doeschate made significant contributions with bat and ball. While the Dutch attempted to seize control, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj held them back.

India secured victory and moved forward into the semifinals, meeting fourth-placed New Zealand on Wednesday in one semi-final and taking on South Africa and Australia in another.

Rohit Sharma will lead India along with Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Aryan Dutt, Ishant Sharma Shardul Thakur Bhuvneshwar Kumar Kuldeep Yadav Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj while Scott Edwards Max O’Dowd Bas de Leede Vikram Singh Teja Nidamanuru Wesley Barresi Colin Ackermann Sybrand Engelbrecht will represent Netherlands cricket while captain Kohli currently leads run scoring charts with 594 runs from nine matches while also holding most double-hundred hundreds.

Netherlands scored 243/9 in 47 overs

India put the Netherlands into bat at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and quickly had them out for just 243 runs after Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first against them. India took an early advantage by winning this matchup as Rohit elected to bowl first and take control of their match against Netherlands.

The Dutch side had difficulty in their middle innings as wickets fell regularly. However, Max O’Dowd and Colin Ackermann played some brilliant shots which helped reach a respectable score.

Ravindra Jadeja caught Ackermann at fine leg with the ball skidding onto his pads for 35 off 76 balls before replacing him with Teja Nidamanuru, who scored with four fours and two sixes during his innings to keep scores moving forward for hosts.

Jadeja then took advantage of Nidamanuru clipping his pads down his leg and being caught at short third man, to claim another wicket as the required run rate skyrocketed and Netherlands were in jeopardy of failing.

But the Dutch refused to surrender, scoring runs steadily throughout. Finally, their lower middle order crumbled under pressure of an ever-increasing requirement and lost four wickets along the way.

At the end of it all, India easily made their way through to the semi-finals in ICC World Cup 2023 league stage with nine victories out of nine matches won. They will next take on New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.

India are currently leading the points table after winning all their league matches in this tournament and are only one victory away from an unprecedented first ODI world cup clean sweep since 2003.

Indian bowling line-up is led by fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. However, their batting department will miss Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli due to injury; other batsmen such as Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul can fill in as needed; overall it’s time for Indian batsmen to step up their performances!

India scored 411 runs

Diwali joy was evident at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as Indian batters put on an incredible performance against Netherlands at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. India amassed an astonishing total of 410 runs in 50 overs to set an ODI World Cup total for second highest score overall – Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul both hit hundreds, while many members of India’s batting line-up contributed with substantial scores to help India prevail by an immense margin!

KL Rahul achieved his maiden ODI world cup century in only 62 balls to break Rohit Sharma’s previous record set last week and become the fastest to score 50 runs so far in this tournament. To take his team past 400 runs he scored two back-to-back sixes during the final over and set yet another record while doing so.

India have now crossed the 400-run mark seven times in ODI cricket and twice during this tournament alone, with their batsmen holding onto top position with regards to strike rate in world cup competition.

Indian bowlers were equally impressive, with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja taking two wickets each in just 15 overs to dominate early and reach 119-1 against Wesley Barresi as their sole wicketfall in this first innings.

But it was always going to be difficult for the Netherlands to achieve such an ambitious target in their final group game. Even after losing early, Colin Ackermann and Shubman Gill kept their spirits high while contributing significantly towards team’s effort.

India won their fourth match against Netherlands at this World Cup, both times comfortably in one-day internationals (ODIs). By defeating them again in this World Cup tournament, they also secured their spot in the semifinals; facing New Zealand in Mumbai next Wednesday will mark their first semifinal clash since 2023!
