India vs Australia

The ICC Champions Trophy pits two of the world’s most beloved cricket teams against each other. India and Australia have an intense rivalry that dates back over seventy years; their clashes have produced some of the greatest moments in cricket history – be it an exciting Test match or nail-biting limited overs clash, these events are must-watch events!

Australia and England meet for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series beginning October 15 and concluding October 23. Both sides hope to improve their current form, so these matches should prove an exciting spectacle.

Unfortunately for Australia due to injuries such as fast bowler Pat Cummins having experienced lumbar bone stress; several key players will miss this series due to illness as well as missed training due to injuries which has limited recent form. Nonetheless, Australia remains a formidable threat!

India won the toss and elected to bat in the inaugural Test match. Their early struggles saw them drop to 5-63 before Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar came together for an unassailable partnership of 93 runs between them. Australia struggled too, reaching only 212 runs before falling quickly behind India due to Harbhajan Singh and Murali Kartik grabbing seven wickets each in Australia’s innings.

India came back from two consecutive defeats to win their final match of the series by 19 runs using Duckworth-Lewis method, leaving both teams tied on points at the top of Group C; Australia may now fall out of contention altogether and four of those teams would advance directly to semifinals; losing could end their hopes for qualifying altogether.

The ODI series will kick off with a match in Adelaide on March 4 and finish up in Perth on March 6. Both teams are hoping to rebound after an underwhelming start, drawing upon some impressive individual talent to boost their efforts. Expect high scores from both sides and expect an entertaining match featuring Mitchell Marsh leading his Australians alongside Josh Inglis and Travis Head among many other notable names in their squads.

Australia vs India Test Series

Australia and India will begin their series at Allan Border Field north of Brisbane starting Thursday. Australia have faced off three times already against India since October 2010, so this match marks an opportunity for them to take control of the series when hosting them again next week in Sydney – but there must not be complacency.

Australia under Darren Lehmann have lost two of their opening three matches and require either to win their remaining contest and/or some form of assistance elsewhere to reach the quarter-finals. At present they sit second in their pool on net run rate behind Ireland but with Sri Lanka just ahead on point difference; Australia needs either Zimbabwe or Oman to lose in order to avoid an potentially difficult tiebreaker scenario.

Owing to their home series against Bangladesh, Australia are set for an eventful 2026 schedule – beginning with two Test series in northern Australia followed by four against New Zealand before embarking on two five-Test tours – South Africa and England.

No surprise here; selection can often be an intricate balance. Kurtis Patterson will likely remain in contention after an impressive domestic season, although batsmen must step up. Sam Konstas and Jake Weatherald can provide depth in the middle order; they must demonstrate more consistency if they hope to retain regular spots.

As for bowling, Mitchell Starc will return from injury just in time for the final Test while Josh Hazlewood is out due to a hamstring problem. That means Nathan Lyon could play an increased role; in seven Twenty20 international innings since April he has taken 10 wickets and added them to his impressive record against India (he currently holds 27 wickets in nine matches).

Australia vs India ODI Series

Australia-India rivalry is one of the defining aspects of world cricket. These two teams often meet, often competing against one another over many matches and series. Most recently in an ODI series between them, Australia came out victorious by 3 wickets. Both sides boast formidable ODI squads – this series promises to be extremely entertaining!

India will aim to avoid back-to-back ODI losses for the first time since February 2022 when they face Australia in their three-match ODI series beginning Thursday at Adelaide Oval. Australia boast an excellent record against India in ODIs and have won each previous series they’ve faced off.

Virat Kohli will look to make an impressionful statement against Australia in the ODI series as he attempts to become second highest run scorer behind AB De Villiers. With stadiums packed full of Indian supporters cheering him on and Kuldeep Yadav now available only for ODIs rather than T20Is as backup, Kohli should find plenty of encouragement for success in his bid for second highest ODI run scorer behind De Villiers.

Australia’s bowlers will look to get into peak form ahead of the Ashes Test series which commences within less than a month. Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc were impressive with the new ball at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), so will look to repeat that success during upcoming matches.

The inaugural One Day International (ODI) saw Australia successfully defend 288 against Rohit Sharma’s brilliant century. Behrendorff and Richardson proved impressive early, striking early to remove Kohli and Rayudu while Dhoni unfortunately succumbed to being given out LBW as India struggled in chasing 288 runs down.

As rain threatened to suspend play altogether, the match was reduced to 26 overs per side. Marsh and Renshaw both got their bats swinging for Australia after early Head loss, providing them with a strong platform from which they could build upon.

Australia ultimately reduced their target to 131 after 26 overs with just seven runs needed off of the final 10 balls for Australia to secure victory. Australia have some injuries in their batting line-up with Pat Cummins (back) being most urgent, while Adam Zampa is out due to Ashes preparations.

Australia vs India T20 Series

Australia and India’s rivalry in white-ball cricket is one of the greatest rivalries in international cricket, and this series offers another opportunity for them to renew it in short format. Both sides come into this match in good form – Australia have not lost any T20I matches while India have won three in a row – both hoping to build momentum ahead of next month’s ICC World Cup.

On Wednesday evening at Manuka Oval in Canberra, the first T20I of this five-match series will begin. Play will commence at 6:00pm AEST with weather forecast to be cool with a slight chance of rainfall expected. Manuka Oval tends to be a lower scoring venue during T20Is and BBL matches with spin playing an essential part in both formats of cricket.

Australia currently enjoys an unbeaten T20I record against India with nine wins and five losses in T20 Internationals (T20Is). Their home team have triumphed at Sydney Cricket Ground by defeating Indian opponents each match – this represents the highest number of T20I victories at any venue ever won by any nation in Australia’s T20I history. They also won every encounter at Edgbaston and Shere Bangla National Stadiums respectively against India.

Matt Short may have lost hope of breaking into Australia’s T20I side after needing surgery for a finger cut suffered against New Zealand. Nonetheless, he should still be fit for Sunday’s final T20I in Sydney while Josh Inglis is eager to return after missing both ODIs and T20Is on tour due to an ongoing calf issue.

Travis Head has been in superb form this season for Australia. His hitting has been solid and he has scored multiple centuries during his limited-overs career – potentially becoming a threat to India’s bowlers.

Captain Mitch Marsh has also been impressive; running rings around India’s top order at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during their second T20I and looking to add to his runs against India this week. Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has also been consistent performer throughout this series for Australia.
