Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans

Rajasthan Royals v Gujarat Titans has long been one of the most compelling stories in Indian Premier League. When GT first entered competition in 2022, their goal was to quickly make history whereas RR was on an effort to regain lost dominance.

Over time and through numerous thrilling matches, finals appearances, and powerful performances in matches played between each side, their rivalry quickly emerged as one of its main attractions in tournament play.

GT was dominant early on in both their debut season and IPL final appearance, yet Royal Challengers (RR) slowly found ways to defeat them using explosive batting and world-class bowlers.

Hardik Pandya’s all-round brilliance, Jos Buttler’s firepower and Rashid Khan’s lethal spin proved decisive – setting off an exciting contest that should produce more edge-of-your-seat thrills and high totals in future matches.

Match 1

Gujarat Titans have had difficulty finding their groove in this year’s IPL tournament and desperately require a victory to stay competitive.

Their chances may improve with Jos Buttler back on board after his release by Rajasthan Royals; but that does not answer whether he can lead his colleagues batsmen into firing properly.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, hits an unbeaten 35-ball century as he helps Rajasthan Royals chase down 210 against Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Suryavanshi hit seven boundaries and 11 sixes to outshone Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 31-ball 50.

Shubman Gill became the youngest half-century maker in IPL season 12, crossing 150 to become youngest 50 run scorer at 29 years and 48 days.

However, Hetmyer caught him out at long on and set the tone for home team; although their bowlers struggled with controlling Gujarat Titans run rate during middle overs.

Match 2

Shubman Gill led Gujarat Titans’ run-scoring, but was overshadowed by 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record-setting 101 off 38 balls – becoming the youngest-ever player to score an IPL T20 century and reigniting their playoff hopes in dramatic fashion.

Sai Sudharsan produced an exquisite paddle scoop to hit Tushar Deshpande for an over extra cover six. Deshpande hit his shot through fine leg ring and into the stands for a massive six.

Dhruv Jurel hit a short ball from Rashid Khan through the covers and Hetmyer took an extraordinary catch, running up from deep cover and taking it at his second attempt – something which will undoubtedly boost Jurel’s confidence as an early pace bowler for Jamaica.

Match 3

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, made history tonight when he produced an incredible 35-ball century for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Suryavanshi hit seven boundaries and 11 sixes during an incredible innings that outshone fellow RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 31-ball 50.

Rahul Dravid – Rajasthan Royals’ head coach – made an important move when he stood up from his wheelchair and applauded Suryavanshi on reaching one hundred. It marked the first time ever in any IPL game that Dravid came forward to give any player applause.

Hetmyer attempts to hit an over-midwicket six, but misses and holes out in the deep. Archer then hits Hetmyer on his pads on the final delivery;

Sai Sudharsan then flicks it to the boundary – taking their score to 206/6 after 13 overs and keeping RR within reach of victory by four wickets.

Match 4

Vaibhav Suryavanshi hit a 35-ball century to propel Rajasthan Royals past Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

He earned Player of the Match honors for his remarkable effort and repeatedly hit boundary after boundary for Rajasthan Royals – delighting Jaipur fans along with many spectators from Gujarat Titans bowlers. It was an exciting sight!

As his teammates congratulate him, even head coach Rahul Dravid leaves his wheelchair to applaud.

Archer made an aggressive start, looking for an edge from Sai Sudharsan on his first delivery but failing to reach any fielder.

On the second ball he nudged it out to reach 50 off 31 balls – shortly thereafter Jaiswal followed suit with 51-ball innings as the Royals surged ahead in the chase.

Match 5

After an initially slow start, the batsmen quickly recovered. Gill reached his half century while Jos Buttler added to the total with an unbeaten 51 from 26 deliveries.

Sai Sudharsan then won the Orange Cap with his 39-run innings but was finally dismissed trying to hit one over long on.

14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced an exceptional 35-ball century to keep Rajasthan Royals on track against Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Suryavanshi struck seven boundaries and 11 sixes during this brilliant performance that eclipsed Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 31-ball 50.

As Suryavanshi walks off, his teammates stand up to applaud. Rahul Dravid even gets off his wheelchair to give Suryavanshi his congratulations – truly making this momentous for both himself and a Rajasthan Royals side that had struggled all year to find their groove. It was truly unforgettable moment.

Match 6

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, powered Rajasthan Royals past Gujarat Titans for an IPL 2025 match in Jaipur on Monday with his 19-ball 50 and 35-ball century in 59 balls – which was the fastest IPL century ever by a teenager and outshone Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 31-ball fifty in that match.

Theekshana, replacing Fazalhar Farooqi as swing bowler for Rajasthan Royals (RR), creates an early breakthrough for them in the fourth over. His ball nudges around and Sai Sudharsan flicks it for a boundary; Buttler’s dismissal in their previous game had been a massive setback and their middle order has struggled to keep up with their batsmen’s rate of scoring.

Jofra Archer’s opening over is unmarred by bloodshed as both Titans batsmen nudge or leave the ball. But their final over was marred by Sherfane Rutherford being caught at short extra cover by Hetmyer for 13 and Washington Sundar attempting a delivery which went straight to keeper.

Match 7

Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans’ clash will have lasting ramifications in the Indian Premier League 2025 standings, as it pits them against each other to determine who goes home first in this battle for second spot in IPL 2025.

Rajasthan are currently ninth, seeking to avoid elimination, with Gujarat Titans sitting second. RR stand-in captain Riyan Parag opted to bat first after winning the toss, with Gujarat Titans opting to bat second after Riyan Parag had decided they won the toss.

Jofra Archer draws an edge off Sai Sudharsan on the fourth ball of Jofra’s over, yet no fielder comes forward to catch it. Meanwhile, Titans batters use subtle adjustments as they try to navigate Jofra’s first over.

Shimron Hetmyer’s unbeaten 56 off 26 balls helped the Royals reach 196/3 after they were put into bat, yet their batting unit still needs work following Buttler’s departure last season.

Their over-reliance on their top three is becoming apparent and their middle order has failed to provide adequate support – leading them into some disappointing death over performances that will be remembered fondly by opponents.

Match 8

Gujarat Titans entered this match having defeated Kolkata Knight Riders and had the chance to move up into second place on the table, however after Jos Buttler’s dismissal there were serious doubts as to their top-order strength.

But Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler all played key roles in a thumping 210-run win for the Gujarat Titans against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday evening.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was awarded Player of the Match after scoring a stunning 35-ball century to help his team easily chase down an enormous target.

His incredible innings easily overshadowed Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 31-ball 50 and won him praise from everyone present at the ground.

Rajasthan Royals need to address its weaknesses quickly; particularly their dismal performances in Overs 7-16 this season.
