England Women vs India Women 1st T20I was an eventful one. Many milestones and records were broken during this match-up between England Women and India Women in T20.

Deepti Sharma made history on Saturday by becoming only the second Indian female cricketer ever to take 300 international wickets, taking them in just 11 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Her record of 216 was already in place but this surpassed it by five wickets!

Smriti Mandhana appeared poised to set a record for highest ever successful chase in T20I cricket as she appeared unstoppable until being dismissed by Heather Knight – giving England hope, but ultimately leading them into losing this thrilling contest at Chester-le-Street.

Sophie Ecclestone and Amy Jones led England to an impressive victory in a rain-affected second T20I against India, levelling up the series 1-1.

Both teams demonstrated outstanding skills as both won with impressive performances on display; it resulted in an exciting match which will go the distance at The Oval on 10 July 2025 for round three of this Twenty20 international.

Shree Charani made her T20I debut while Tammy Beaumont (Eng) scored her 7,000th run internationally – both impressive feats worthy of note!

India vs England T20 Match 3

England made valiant attempts at pulling off an unprecedented run chase, but India’s superior fielding proved too much at Kennington Oval – keeping England’s chances at 1-1 for this series.

Smriti Mandhana’s 71-ball innings was the highlight of Indian’s performance and she earned the most runs overall in this tournament. Mithali Raj was also instrumental in her victory, notching her 50th ODI half century!

After an excellent start, Mandhana succumbed to Sciver-Brunt’s simple misfield at long-on, but she managed to push on and not let that put her off as she scored another fifty in this tournament.

Sciver-Brunt reached the boundary off Yadav via an exquisite shot over midwicket off him; she was however soon caught by Sneh Rana trying to reverse sweep her.

Mandhana was ultimately dismissed by Davidson-Richards at deep midwicket in the 20th over, but her efforts had ensured her team’s safety.

Sciver-Brunt and Sophia Dunkley hit lofted shots that kept the scoreboard moving along; Yadav’s review attempt failed as they reached 235-3 at the end of that over.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt contributed an outstanding hundred to help England to an overwhelming total in the fifth and final game of their series at Edgbaston. Danni Wyatt also scored while Amy Jones added 23 runs late on.

India got off to an excellent start after choosing to bat first, quickly getting down to work quickly before losing momentum in the middle overs. Shafali Verma made an important contribution despite her exit sparking the collapse.

England openers Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge got off to an explosive start as they put together an opening stand of 57/0 during the powerplay overs before Danni Wyatt-Hodge was run out off Saika Ishaque’s fourth ball of an over.

Yadav brings spin into her attack, offering some lofted shots that tease fielders but fall safely – an over goes for eight runs with Sciver-Brunt reverse lapping for two, her attacking strokes against spin seeming somewhat forced at this stage.

Review for caught behind against Davidson-Richards fails, and she misses an attempted leg side swipe that would have resulted in four. Charlie Dean then scores four with a breezy reverse sweep to give England their goal of 118 in 84 balls.

Yadav finally struck and managed to end any hope of an England comeback, running out Dunkley with Kranti Gaud’s direct hit off the next ball – sealing India’s victory 2-1 in series play and sending Harmanpreet Kaur’s side into top form ahead of their home World Cup tournament next year.

Harmanpreet Kaur and her young side can be proud that this massive achievement represents them; these young cricketers truly stand out and cannot wait for training sessions!
