Gareth Southgate will aim to improve England’s dismal record against Brazil at Euro 2024. Both teams face numerous injury concerns with Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Kieran Trippier, Cole Palmer and Luke Shaw among those unavailable for England.

Darren Fletcher and Anthony Gordon will start for England alongside Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Ollie Watkins. Here we will discuss the high lights or main points of England National Football Team vs Brazil National Football Team Lineups.

England XI National Football Team

Gareth Southgate will likely employ the 3-5-2 formation that has proved so successful for England in recent matches, which will see Kyle Walker remaining at right back, John Stones as his defensive partner, and Jordan Pickford remaining goalkeeper.

Luke Shaw or Kieran Trippier at left back will likely be the major selection question here, with Joe Gomez, Anthony Gordon or Cole Palmer having an opportunity to earn their maiden caps under this scenario.

Southgate may decide to give Jude Bellingham more freedom in midfield due to his success at Real Madrid operating as a roaming midfielder, which would enable him to link with Raheem Sterling on the front line and provide support. Southgate could also pit Marcus Rashford and Ollie Watkins against one another in pursuit of starting spots up front but that appears unlikely given Harry Kane’s absence.

Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo may become England’s latest newcomer when he replaces Conor Gallagher in midfield. Called up from Under-21 team in order to cover for Josh Clarke’s injury and replace Conor Gallagher at Wembley Stadium. He hopes to impress at Wembley.

Due to injuries or illness, Brazil are without its key players such as Neymar, Gabriel Martinelli, Casemiro and Ederson – leaving Dorival Junior limited options; Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Richarlison may still start.

No matter their injuries, the hosts are clear favorites to win this friendly at Wembley. Their head-to-head record against their Brazilian opponents and current form give them an advantage; but even so it won’t guarantee victory against an organised side that could strike on any given night – expect an exciting yet unpredictable contest that could go either way!

Brazil XI National Football Team

England and Brazil meet in an anticipated friendly at Wembley Stadium, each seeking to gain momentum ahead of Euro 2024. Gareth Southgate hopes to build on England’s quarter-final run at the World Cup while Dorival Junior wants to end a streak of near misses in major competitions. Both squads feature talented players that could determine the outcome of this clash.

Both teams are facing several injuries going into this game, with England missing Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Trent Alexander-Arnold as well as Luke Shaw, Cole Palmer Kieran Trippier and Jordan Henderson due to injuries. Meanwhile Brazil are missing Neymar Casemiro and Ederson amongst other key figures.

As such, England will be led by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker, Ben Chilwell, and Harry Maguire will provide strong defensive cover. Everton’s Jordan Jones may feature due to his recent performance under Jurgen Klopp in the Europa League final while Middlesbrough’s Jordan Hugill and Manchester City’s Ross Barkley will provide options.

Lee Carsley will use this opportunity to promote young talent within Brazil’s squad. He could opt for a double pivot in midfield with Joao Gomes and Bruno Guimaraes; Lucas Beraldo and Wendell should fill in for Marquinhos and Marcos Alonso, while Lucas Paqueta and Rodrygo lead their attack.

Forwards Bayern Munich’s Rodrygo and Liverpool’s Vini Jr are set to make their Brazilian debuts, joining Everton winger Raul Garcia and PSG forward Guilherme Arana from PSG and Everton respectively – providing additional depth. On the bench will feature Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Ezri Konsa as well as Anthony Gordon and Jarrad Branthwaite for visitors’ side; Kobbie Mainoo will become England youngest player this century when making his England debut this century – making him England youngest player this century!

Gareth Southgate will likely make several alterations to England’s starting lineup for their friendly against Brazil at Wembley Stadium. Kieran Trippier may replace Luke Shaw following his comeback from injury at left back and Crystal Palace center back Marc Guehi could replace Gary Cahill as defensive midfielder in central defense; Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could start ahead of Jordan Henderson while Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo may also be available for selection.

England have yet to defeat Brazil since winning their last Confederations Cup game back in 2013. Their current squad boasts more depth, giving them hope of turning their record against South American powerhouse into a victory.

Harry Maguire and John Stones will likely start in defence, while Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Dele Alli will likely join Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley from Everton and Alex Iwobi of Arsenal as attacking options. Manchester City winger Jadon Sancho could replace injured Jesse Lingard.

Notable inclusions include Kobbie Mainoo, who will replace Conor Gallagher in making his international debut before reaching 19. Likewise, Eberechi Eze was called up late as a sub to add energy and enthusiasm to England’s attack.

Brazil have created the early chances at Wembley Stadium and won a corner shortly thereafter through Luiz Felipe Scolari who put it under threat close range, yet his shot went harmlessly wide of the crossbar. Shortly afterwards Luiz Gustavo provided Vinicius Jr with a lofted ball that sent him through on goal but his shot hit straight at Pickford instead of landing into his goal.

Wolves midfielder Bellingham received the first booking of the game for a reckless tackle on Joao Gomes that the referee felt warranted a red card; however, he decided against sending off Bellingham.

England are competing in their inaugural UEFA Nations League season after finishing third at last year’s finals, joining Greece and Republic of Ireland in Group B. Manager Lee Carsley has named an initial starting lineup for Saturday’s Wembley match featuring Trent Alexander-Arnold at right back while Harry Maguire should return from injury to hold onto his spot on defence.

The Selecao will be without their star forward Vinicius Junior due to yellow card accumulation. His absence opens the way for 17-year-old Endrick to start in his debut international match and Rodrygo to move off his left flank. Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United and Andre from Wolves will provide defensive protection for their backline, with Lucas Paqueta providing attack.

Paqueta finds space on the edge of the box and attempts a first-time volley from outside, which goes just wide of its target. He was hoping to recreate Brazil’s early lead.

Brazil’s defence appears strong, limiting England’s opportunities in the final third of the pitch. Marquinhos appeared set to claim a headed rebound off an acrobatic effort from an aerial attempt but referee ruled it out due to offside.

England striker Harry Kane is back available following an ankle injury and Carsley may pick him off the bench at halftime to give him more game time in England’s match with Germany at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday. But Kane may remain out of action for much of that match-up despite his recovery timetable, potentially keeping his place for that matchup at Wembley on Tuesday evening.

Ecuador are looking to build on their recent victory against Chile, which elevated them up to fifth place in World Cup qualifier standings. Even though odds may seem against them, visitors under new coach Becaccece remain confident and determined to cause an upset at home in front of their home crowd. Whoever emerges victorious will take fourth position within Group C; those that lose will face potential elimination game against Peru.
