Holkar Cricket Stadium’s pitch offers batsmen an ideal environment, helping teams score more runs and India to play an aggressive style of cricket.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is making rapid runs for Afghanistan at one end, supported by Ibrahim Zadran and Gulbadin Naib, who aim to keep their innings moving forward in the India national cricket team vs Afghanistan national cricket team match scorecard.

India: 212/4 in 50 overs

India will look to build on their impressive win against Afghanistan by winning all four Test matches on their tour of New Zealand. They have made great strides toward accomplishing this goal; however, some issues must still be addressed before reaching the conclusion of their mission.

India have not won four consecutive Test series since 2013, so they would like nothing better than to end that run of inconsistency when taking on New Zealand in Kanpur for their second Test match. While India have shown progress across most departments and hinted at a top-order revival, they have struggled to transform that impressive form into sustained victories.

India suffered an unexpected collapse on Thursday as they were bowled out for 46 in their first innings against New Zealand at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. New Zealand pacers Matt Henry and William O’Rourke proved too strong, outwitting their batsmen before bowling them out quickly.

With Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease, India are trying to be mindful of the pitch conditions and avoid making hasty decisions, yet remain aggressive when needed to punish bad deliveries. Together they’re working toward not losing wickets while building solid partnerships.

Indian batsman Jaiswal hit an instant boundary off the third ball of the morning session and is well on his way to compiling a respectable total before lunch. Rohit Sharma continues his impressive display by hitting some stunning shots, and looks set for a half century score as well.

India’s Kuldeep Yadav is creating issues for New Zealand batsmen and has particularly troubled tailender Tim Southee so far. Southee has been taken out on multiple occasions by Kuldeep Yadav’s spin, making his position increasingly uncomfortable against this spinner.

Ravindra Jadeja struck again and got rid of Matt Henry on a score of 8 when he edged Jadeja’s delivery towards wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel for a catch by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. With this scalp, drinks were called for and New Zealand batsmen found themselves under tremendous strain as India spinner Ravindra Jadeja was not giving any chances and trapped several batters quickly; already in his fourth over of morning session alone he has three wickets! He will play a crucial role for India in building up a dominant position for Day two while playing conditions will deteriorate further making playing difficult than expected for them.

Afghanistan: 85/0 in 20 overs

India, led by Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh’s half centuries, won decisively against Afghanistan in their three-match T20 series at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening. All-rounder Shivam Dube and leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi also showed impressive form for their young side.

Indian bowlers made quick work of Afghanistan’s batting line-up. Jasprit Bumrah removed Zazai early while Mohammed Shami got rid of Mohammad Shahzad as they struggled to make any dent in India’s total score. Nabi and Gulbadin Naib stood strong as their teams rallied from an uneven start.

Afghanistan batsmen failed to capitalize on their solid start and were soon left behind as India quickly picked off wickets at regular intervals. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was out after hitting an unforced shot to deep midwicket off Kuldeep; shortly thereafter Ibrahim Zadran was caught at short midwicket off Kuldeep for just 8.2 runs off an over of bowling from that same bowler.

As Afghanistan battled back against India’s run rate, their batsmen desperately attempted to catch up but ultimately fell short. A late surge from Naib and Nabi brought them close to matching India’s score before eventually being bowled out for 85/0.

Nabi began his innings by hitting Avesh Khan’s full ball towards covers for four before clearing the long off boundary with another maximum. On Kuldeep’s full ball for six he played an aerial route back towards long on where he reached it again with another maximum. Finally he hit another six on Kuldeep’s full ball for six before smashing another six off Kuldeep to reach fifty on his final over.

The second Super Over was much more exciting as both teams managed to score runs, only for Indian bowlers to find some consistency and close out the game in only three balls.

Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh will now spearhead India’s attack, with Virat Kohli at their other end. With such an enormous target to chase down and an outstanding bowling lineup supporting them, it will be fascinating to witness if Rohit and Rinku can replicate their performances from Super Over one and secure victory for India – this must-win game must end successfully for them if they wish to close the series in style! Stay tuned for further updates!

India win by 47 runs

Rahmanullah Gurbaz had an outstanding start, combining with Ibrahim Zadran for a 56-run partnership to propel Afghanistan to an 85/0 total within 10 overs. However, wickets fell regularly as visitors struggled to keep up with required runs rate; Washington Sundar from India proved most effective bowler as he finished with impressive figures of 3/18 in three overs of bowling.

Rohit Sharma began India’s 50 overs innings with an aggressive over, hitting two sixes off free hits before edged to wicketkeeper and scoring single off next delivery as India reached 213/4 in 50 overs. Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli each managed half centuries for the home side.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Karim Janat returned to resume their innings, only for Jasprit Bumrah – fresh off a successful hat-trick over — to remove both openers to reduce their deficit to 11 runs.

Mohammad Nabi and Gulbadin Naib made a valiant effort to bring the game into the final over, sharing an unbeaten 56-run partnership over only 22 balls that gave Afghanistan hope of an unlikely comeback. But Arshdeep Singh made an amazing last-ball catch that stopped their bid, handing India a commanding 47-run win.

With their victory, India registered their inaugural ever Super 8 match win in this tournament while also keeping their perfect record intact. Now India have an outstanding chance of finishing in the top two in their pool and progressing to the semi-finals of this year’s competition. New Zealand boasts an outstanding track record in this tournament, having defeated Afghanistan every time they’ve faced them previously in previous fixtures. Afghanistan must overcome New Zealand, with whom they hold an advantageous head-to-head record having won all their previous meetings during competition. At Kensington Oval, this match will be an eye-catching spectacle. Both teams will aim to maintain their strong form in the tournament and advance quickly towards final four stage as quickly as possible, hoping to leave behind their volatile off-field relationships that have affected their performances so far in this tournament. It all kicks off at 7 pm (IST).
