Afghanistan overcame all odds to beat UAE and maintain their slim Super-8 hopes, thanks to Azmatullah Omarzai. When UAE struggled to make runs on a Delhi pitch that remained slow and grippy, Omarzai took control with some clarity of purpose – first striking straight and true against Syed Haider off-stump bail before jagging Siddique delivery around corner to hit Harshit Kaushik back behind to the keeper for four.
