The 2024 Indian Premier League will mark its 17th edition and feature ten teams from 13 cities competing across 74 matches between 22 March and 26 May, beginning with Chennai Super Kings as defending champions and two groups with top four teams qualifying for playoffs.
The 2024 IPL will begin with eight group matches. The winner from each group will advance to the Semifinals while losers are relegated back into Qualifiers.
Once qualified, Semifinal winners will compete for a place in the Grand Final at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Delhi; in addition, this season also introduces new features, including Qualifier and Eliminator brackets.
Record-setting moments have occurred throughout the IPL 2024 season. These include achieving the highest team total and most number of fours scored per game; Sunil Narine also becoming the first player ever to win three Most Valuable Player awards from this tournament. As always, fans have found great entertainment from this tournament on TV and digital platforms alike.
IPL 2024 has come under criticism for not featuring enough Indian players, yet the BCCI has assured that it will work closely with government to rectify this.

IPL 2025
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the world’s most beloved franchise-based Twenty20 cricket tournament. Starting March 22, this year’s edition began and will run till June 3.
Four teams will qualify for playoffs; once in, these will play against each other in a final match to determine who takes home the crown – with KKR and RCB standing out as possible candidates, while there may well be others that surprise everyone along the way!
The Indian Premier League 2025 season will feature 10 teams competing under its current format, similar to last year.
Each group of five will play against one another twice during league play; winners from each will advance to semi-finals on May 18 and 20, and finally the IPL final on June 3.
KKR holds the best record in IPL history. In 2010 alone, it made it all the way to and defeated CSK in the final. But in recent years, the franchise has struggled to match its past successes and has since settled as a mid-table team.
KKR may not have fared so well recently, but their young talent could help them challenge for the title this year. Their roster boasts some of the league’s finest bowlers such as Praveen Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav as well as having ample bench depth. Ultimately, these qualities allow KKR to step up when needed most.
This year’s IPL tournament is set to be a tight contest, as several factors, including injuries and player age can all play into its outcome.
CSK and KKR appear as likely contenders with their mix of experience and youth making them favorites but other teams like RCB or SRH may make an unexpected run towards victory.
