SRH vs LSG
SRH are one of the favorites to lift the title this season as they look to make amends for their disappointing showing in last edition.
Their season will begin against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on March 28, while Abhishek Sharma led his side’s B squad with a blistering knock of 94 off just 42 deliveries in an intrasquad game on March 21 – propelling them to 253 in 14.4 overs!
They then host newcomers Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday (April 5), in what should be an afternoon fixture.
IPL 2024
The Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) was India’s 17th edition of Twenty20 cricket tournament. Featuring ten teams and taking place between 22 March and 26 May 2024, it saw Kolkata Knight Riders defend their crown, defeating Singapore Slammers by eight wickets to claim third IPL victory and first for any Asian team. 2024 IPL saw record viewership and sponsorship revenue.
SRH, winners of the IPL in 2016, suffered from a poor showing last season and are hoping for a comeback this time around.
They have made several changes to their squad, such as signing English batsman Liam Livingstone at a record fee of 13 crore and temporary replacing captain Pat Cummins until his injury heals; Ishan Kishan will lead their squad until Cummins can play again.
IPL 2024 will feature a home-and-away format with each team playing each other twice over. The top four teams will qualify for playoffs where they will face off against one another in single-elimination tournament.
The winner of each qualifier will advance directly to the IPL final while its loser will face the victor of an eliminator match-up in an eliminator one-off game.

Many teams have made substantial roster adjustments this year and early games will serve as an early litmus test to ensure successful seasons ahead.
SRH are hoping to build on their sixth-place finish from last season by making key additions in both bowling and batting departments. England batsman Liam Livingstone was signed for an unprecedented sum, while Sri Lankan spinner Matheesha Pathirana should return from shoulder injury soon.
SRH have also hired experienced batting coach Richard Dawson as well as Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Shahid – all additions that should contribute towards furthering success for them in 2018.
Pat Cummins will miss the early games as he recovers from a lumber stress injury, though Ishan Kishan has taken over until Australian bowler returns. Additionally, former wicketkeeper-batsman Jack Edwards is out due to a foot injury and no longer playing for SRH.
