Pakistan got their World Cup campaign off to a winning start despite some early miscues. Half centuries from Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan were especially helpful for their cause.
Hasan Ali bowls a short one on leg that angles in, which Logan van Beek defends with his right bat straight but his feet shift and the ball hits his pads instead. In this article, we will discuss the main point of Pakistan National Cricket Team vs Netherlands National Cricket Team Match Scorecard.
Pakistan: 205 all out
Pakistan were given a bat after winning the toss on a pitch that seemed suitable for batting, with Majid Khan and Azhar Mahmood getting off to a good start before their opponents put pressure on with bowlers keeping runs scarce despite Asif Iqbal making an impressive 62 to keep the scoreboard moving forward.
But Iqbal wasn’t alone in his chase; Javed Miandad joined in, playing patiently as they added an unbroken 68-run partnership for Pakistan to take the lead. Dutch bowlers weren’t able to break through, and when De Leede was dismissed in 34 overs Pakistan had faith they’d win this match.
The Dutch began their second innings confidently but quickly found themselves under pressure from Pakistan bowlers. Dutch batsmen struggled to get off the mark on a pitch that held its line but also offered turn.
Shadab Khan quickly struck to remove Vikramjit Singh before Javed Miandad removed Marsh. Lillee and Walker attempted to mount resistance before Mushtaq struck again to give Pakistan some breathing room.
Pakistan was victorious by an impressive margin of 81 runs to win this match and move into first place of the Carlton & United Series standings with five victories out of six matches, thanks to Stuart MacGill’s stellar ODI debut performance, taking 4/19 off 10 overs en route to being man-of-the-match and shared out seven wickets between bowlers with their bowling unit proving more than enough support from Australia who currently stand third after four wins from six matches with an improved net run rate than New Zealand who sit fourth place. These two will meet again tomorrow at Sydney Cricket Ground starting from 3:00pm AEST for what will undoubtedly be another competitive ODI matchup!
Netherlands: 118 all out
Netherlands was held to only 118 all out in their first innings, yet still showed plenty of fight in the latter stages of this high scoring match. They managed to score 14 runs off the last two overs – an amazing achievement given Pakistan were expected to dominate throughout this contest. This result was quite a shocker for them!
Pakistan and India have traditionally had tenuous relations due to the Kashmir dispute. Though both nations share culture and history, trade and travel restrictions exist between them; nonetheless, cricket has often brought them together; notable Pakistani cricket players include Javed Miandad, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Younis Khan are examples.
Netherlands have enjoyed success against Pakistan in T20s, winning both of their previous matches against them in this competition. Sadly, though, they have never managed to claim any victories in ODIs against them.
The Dutch have an outstanding T20 side composed of experienced players such as Ryan Ten Doeschate, Johan Nel, and Paul van Meekeren who all possess superb T20 skills and have amassed many runs throughout their T20 matches; making them dangerous opponents to any opposing team in T20 matches.
Netherlands defeated South Africa by six wickets in their final T20 World Cup match thanks to some strong batting performances from their team as well as some good bowling performances and strategic run outs.
As much as the Dutch will miss this tournament, they will strive to improve for their next run at medal glory in 2023. They hope to qualify for the semi-finals and hopefully secure themselves one.
The Netherlands face an uphill struggle in reaching the Super Eights. They must win both remaining games while hoping for some unexpected results, such as Ireland losing, in order to qualify. While this task seems daunting at first glance, they have proven their worth against top competition – just needing consistency going forward to become formidable competitors in future tournaments. With such much potential and energy behind their back, this team have an excellent shot at reaching finals and winning gold!
Pakistan win by 81 runs
Pakistan made a successful World Cup debut in Hyderabad by defeating Netherlands by 81 runs on Friday, thanks to Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel’s joint half century partnership that propelled them to 286 all out after being sent in by Dutch batsman on a dry pitch with plenty of spin and turn. Spinner Colin Ackermann and fast bowler Logan van Beek each claimed two wickets as Pakistan collapsed to 38-3 before Rizwan and Shakeel repaired it with an impressive fourth wicket stand of 120 run.
Dutch batsmen unleashed their full power to respond, but were overwhelmed by Vikram Singh’s unbeaten half century and poor bowling by Haris Rauf and Colin Ackermann that left them trailing behind in their chase. Durham player Vikram Singh displayed incredible timing with his drives during an exceptional 67-ball stay while showing courage by facing short balls from Pakistan fast bowlers.
Netherlands were in trouble after Shadab Khan took two wickets off two balls in the 43rd over, leaving Vikram struggling for support before reaching his maiden fifty in an impressive late burst – but this came too little, too late as Mohammad Nawaz sealed victory with three for 43 wickets.
Pakistan, who won their previous four matches leading into this tournament, can build on this win and gain confidence heading forward into this competition. But now all eyes will quickly shift towards their opening match against New Zealand on Monday as they look for progress into the semi-finals – winning against New Zealand would send a message about Pakistan’s potential and their intent as they aim to progress further into this tournament.
