Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs to win their eighth straight home game at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Associate nation Nepal struggled against Bangladesh’s in-form bowlers; Tigers seamer Tanzim Hasan precipitated a top-order collapse that brought Nepal down from 26-5 at one stage before Dipendra Singh Airee’s late resistance kept their hopes of reaching Super 8s alive; but with Nepal needing 23 off 12 balls at that stage and needing match winner Mustafizur Rahman coming through with his brilliantly-timed wicket maiden over in 19th over.

Bangladesh won their second match against Nepal by just one wicket to secure their ninth victory of this series. Their batsmen, Litton Das (189 fours and five hundreds) and Shakib Al Hasan (254 sixes and five hundreds), shared an unbroken opening inning batting partnership of 217 runs which put them on track for victory.

Nepal and Zimbabwe faced off for their inaugural One-Day International at Harare Sports Club, Harare. Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field first; Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh of Nepal posted an outstanding opening and overall partnership of 171 runs – but Craig Ervine and Sean Williams’ centuries helped Zimbabwe post a total score of 302/8 from 50 overs.

Nepal hosted a four-match ODI series for the 2019-2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 against Namibia and Oman. They remain undefeated against them since 2013 in this tournament; thus making Bangladesh heavy favorites to reach the semi-finals and reach World Cup Qualifiers 2024 in 2024.

Nepal had an outstanding start to their tournament and won their opening two matches against India A and Pakistan-A respectively before losing against UAE-A. Unfortunately they finished third in their group despite two victories and one defeat; they still stand a good chance at making it to the semi-finals as they have two more games against full member teams remaining.

Nepal played their second warm-up series against Oman and won both matches by an impressive margin. Kushal Malla scored an unbeaten 83 off 92 balls while Karan KC took four wickets – an unbeaten hundred was scored off just 90 balls by Karan KC! In their second encounter against Oman, Aasif Sheikh scored an unbeaten half century while Karan KC took another 3-wicket haul!

Nepal were sent in to bat in the final game of the tournament and were set an easy target of 107 by Bangladesh. Even so, Nepal still had hope to win with 23 needed from 17 balls remaining but Bangladesh seamer Tanzim Hasan bowled a wicket maiden in the 19th over that ensured Bangladesh won with ease.

Nepal are well placed to advance to the semi-finals of World Cup Qualifier with two more victories over full member nations. Although they lost against Bangladesh, Nepal should take great pride in how they performed in this tournament and will surely come out stronger when facing full member nations again. Nepal possess an extremely potency team; should they play to their potential, no opponent should stand a chance.

Their match against Oman marked Nepal’s first full member team ODI since 2014 World Cup Qualifier as well as their debut before a home crowd; during which 15-year-old cricketer Kushal Malla, made history by scoring an international ODI half century off just 124 balls, making history by also becoming youngest ever male player ever in 20/20 history!
