Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs to win their eighth straight home game at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Nepal were sent in to bat in the final game of the tournament and were set an easy target of 107 by Bangladesh. Even so, Nepal still had hope to win with 23 needed from 17 balls remaining but Bangladesh seamer Tanzim Hasan bowled a wicket maiden in the 19th over that ensured Bangladesh won with ease.
Nepal are well placed to advance to the semi-finals of World Cup Qualifier with two more victories over full member nations. Although they lost against Bangladesh, Nepal should take great pride in how they performed in this tournament and will surely come out stronger when facing full member nations again. Nepal possess an extremely potency team; should they play to their potential, no opponent should stand a chance.
