Isa Guha and Marizanne Kapp played particularly well during test series matches.

England opened up their World Cup campaign with an emphatic nine-wicket win against Pakistan, although their performance on the field wasn’t exactly convincing. They will look to improve when facing India – who have come a long way since four years ago!

Edwards, Marsh and Taylor form the cornerstones of their lineup; Danielle Wyatt and Katherine Brunt will provide support from lower order.

Sarah Taylor hasn’t had much luck so far in this tournament, so she hopes that this crucial match can turn it all around for her. Holly Colvin will serve as backup goalie.

England are only facing one issue in their squad: an absence of Anya Shrubsole and Jenny Gunn due to injuries has reduced England’s bowling bench by one, however they should still be amongst the favourites to advance from group stage as their group includes Sri Lanka and West Indies; only the top two from each group qualify for semi-finals.

After dominating in the semi-finals, England advanced to face Australia in a dramatic final at Lords. Led by Claire Taylor’s magnificent innings of 76 at Lords, England overcame an impressive Australian total and took home their fourth World Cup championship since 1996.

England faced South Africa next, who had defeated Sri Lanka in their opener. A slow start saw England slip to 62-5 but Taylor produced an unbeaten 50 to help steer England towards a competitive total of 237-8 with contributions from Greenway, Brindle and Shrubsole all making meaningful contributions to this total.
