Group A
The 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, kicked off on February 7 with its group stage competition.
Over 40 matches will take place, with only the top two teams from each group making it through to Super Eights – followed by an endgame scheduled to be played March 8 in Kolkata/Colombo.
Bangladesh were drawn into Group A alongside Pakistan, Netherlands and Namibia and are considering alternative venues due to security concerns in India for their games.
If Scotland cannot travel to India, their team will be replaced by Scotland who were drawn into Group B alongside Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Oman.
Scotland are currently ranked number 16 out of 16 associate nations worldwide – ranking 9th at this competition.
Group B
On February 7, the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup got underway, pitting 20 teams competing across India and Sri Lanka in a high-stakes global spectacle.
Reigning champion India kicked off their campaign with an emphatic win against USA in Colombo to open their campaign at this global spectacle; four groups of five teams playing 40 group stage matches before qualifying teams move into Super Eights.
England and Nepal have made their debuts at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, joining Ireland, South Africa and Afghanistan as part of Group 1.
Tim Seifert became only the fifth New Zealand player to reach 2,000 T20 International runs, but struggled against UAE in their opening match.

Group C
The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will showcase both established and emerging nations. The group stages feature four teams in two groups of five, with only the top team from each advancing to the Super Eight stage;
Group C features Australia, England, Netherlands Scotland and Italy while Group D includes Afghanistan Canada New Zealand South Africa
New Zealand will aim to secure their place in the semi-finals by winning their group and finishing on top. Tim Seifert will aim to break the record for fastest 2,000 T20I runs while Wayne Parnell and Ross Taylor look to add to their impressive batting records.
In Namibia’s debutant wicketkeeper Ehsan Adil hopes to impress as well, on his World Cup debut he hopes. Additionally this tournament will introduce stop clocks for white ball cricket matches; players taking no more than three deliveries per over.
Group D
The 10th T20 World Cup began on February 7 and teams compete in four groups to reach the Super Eights. Two points are awarded for wins while ties count as one; rankings in the table depend on which record against other teams is better, with group winners and runners-up making it into the knockout stage; semi-finals are set to take place either Kolkata/Colombo on March 4 with final set for Ahmedabad on March 8.

Group E
The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup marked the 12th edition of the quadrennial International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup tournament, played out between 30 May and 14 July across 11 venues in England and one venue in Wales.
Winners from each group will advance to the Super Eights, while runners-up from each will meet up with the champion of Group A, B, C or D in Quarter-finals.
If no team qualifies for Super Eights from their Group then their second placed team from that Group will advance as an alternate to face either Group G, H or I’s second-place team in Quarter finals.

Group F
2026 Men’s T20 World Cup Qualification UEFA Group F was one of twelve groups competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying tournament, to determine which teams would qualify for the final tournament.
Home-and-away round-robin matches between September 2025 and November 2025 decided which teams would qualify directly or via play-offs for Canada, Mexico, and United States finals respectively; Portugal won directly while runners-up Republic of Ireland advanced to second round (play-offs).

Group G
The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was an international cricket tournament hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7 February until 8 March 2026. The competition started on 7 February and concluded eight days later on 8 March.
At five locations across India and Sri Lanka, 55 matches were played over five days at various stages in this tournament.
Unfortunately, controversy followed, with Bangladesh refusing to play their home games there due to security fears; and USA bowler Mohammad Muhsin being denied an Indian visa.
Even with its setbacks, this tournament still managed to deliver exciting action. Unlike in past editions, only the top two teams from each group advanced to the Super Eight stage; points table was determined largely based on results in group stage matches with wins earning two points and losses no points; additionally ties were worth one point each.
Group H
The International Cricket Council organizes the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup biennially as an international tournament featuring men’s Twenty20 international cricket. Formerly known as ICC World Twenty20 and Champions Trophy, this year’s 2026 edition took place between February 7 and 28 in United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Under Bubista’s tutelage, Cape Verde have managed to develop a balanced and united squad as well as creating a harmonious dressing room culture characterized by trust and chemistry that has contributed to their rise to the top of Group H.
Group H will enter the knockout stage against Group J’s runner-up. Meanwhile, four other groups will play each other in their quarterfinals with two teams from each advancing to semi-finals and then onto the final, which will either take place in Kolkata or Colombo.
Group I
The 2026 ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup will take place from February 7 to March 8, in India and Sri Lanka, featuring eight teams divided into two groups with the top four from each advancing to play twice each in Super Eight stage before heading into final on March 10.

Group J
The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will mark its tenth edition, taking place between 7 February and 8 March 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
Twenty teams are divided into five groups with each team playing three matches in India and two matches in Sri Lanka during this tournament.
Netherlands and Pakistan both won their opening matches of the tournament to put themselves atop their respective groups. Netherlands defeated Namibia by seven wickets at Delhi thanks to an outstanding bowling display led by captain Bas de Leede.
Sahibzada Farhan and Shadab Khan led Pakistan to victory in Colombo against USA by eight wickets in their tournament opener, while Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem’s 107-run partnership was UAE’s highlight, but not enough to overcome Pakistan’s powerful batsmen.
