Pakistan’s government has given their stamp of approval to Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to boycott India for World Cup match between these teams. Interior minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi blamed India for recent Balochistan attacks that left hundreds dead, which had their World Cup match scheduled between the teams cancelled.
“Pakistan-Bangladesh matches remain riveting to watch despite their political backdrop, and have produced many dramatic moments throughout ODI competition where both teams have shown equal competitiveness. Check the latest Pakistan National Cricket Team Vs Bangladesh National Cricket Team Match Scorecard for full details.”

ODIs
ODI (One Day International) cricket is one of the three official formats recognized for international play and features two teams of eleven players competing over 50 overs, with the winner determined by whoever scores the most runs during that allotted time frame or first reaching their target score.
These matches are often broadcast live and offer fans the perfect way to spend an afternoon watching cricket!
ODIs may be shorter than other forms of international cricket, but they still provide plenty of entertainment and intensity.
They’re an excellent way to see how two countries match up against one another and can draw large TV audiences; especially matches between India and Pakistan can be very tense as their rivalry extends far beyond the pitch into politics and security issues in both nations.
Pakistan and Bangladesh share a long, distinguished cricketing rivalry, both Tests and one-day internationals (ODIs).
Although Pakistan holds the upper hand historically, Bangladesh’s recent growth has introduced excitement and unpredictability into the opposition’s equation – from World Cup upsets to Asia Cup thrillers to Test matches demanding challenging conditions, their rivalry has emerged as one of South Asia’s most captivating cricketing narratives.
India and Pakistan have played in 136 official ODIs, with India winning most matches against Pakistan but taking only five victories overall. But their rivalry is particularly fierce when it comes to World Cups: each side won three out of eight tournaments they contested together; they also competed in seven Champions Trophy matches – Pakistan taking three victories while India came away victorious four times.
Both teams are currently ranked number 1 in the ICC ODI rankings, making them two of the premier ODI teams globally. Between them they have won 16 ODI World Cups each, giving both an equal shot at success this year. Competition between these two nations will surely be fierce; one could well emerge victorious.
Tensions between India and Pakistan remain high due to an upsurge of violence in Balochistan province in Pakistan, where attacks on police stations and foreign nationals have resulted in numerous fatalities over recent years. Due to this development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has allowed India to opt out of playing there and moved the 2029 Champions Trophy tournament from Pakistan to Sri Lanka instead.
T20Is
Twenty20 Internationals (or T20Is) are fast-paced cricket matches between two national cricket teams that typically last approximately three hours.
Each side gets to bat for 20 “overs,” or six balls, and scoring quickly is the goal of these fast-paced matches – they are often thrilling to watch; though some people may find them less exciting than ODI or Test cricket games.
T20I matches give winning teams points towards their ICC world rankings. These rankings determine whether their team can play against some of the world’s premier international sides; with enough points earned they may even qualify for World Cup qualification!
T20 Internationals provide an opportunity to develop cricket talent while providing experience across multiple formats of the game, which is especially crucial when transitioning from youth cricket to ODI or Test matches. Plus, T20Is can also provide teams with an exciting chance at earning some extra cash!
Pakistan-India is unquestionably one of the most anticipated matches at this year’s T20 World Cup and broadcasters’ primary source for audience interest in it.
Should its cancellation occur, viewership for the entire tournament could plummet by millions; furthermore, Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium and its sponsors could suffer thousands in lost ticket sales revenue as a result.
Pakistan’s decision to boycott India’s match at the World Cup will be a blow for cricket and its sport as a whole, and will tarnish Pakistani government image while they work towards rebuilding relations after years of violence between their nations.
The T20 World Cup will begin on March 15 and has already generated controversy between India and Pakistan due to a threat by Pakistan to boycott any tournament held there, accusing Indian troops for recent attacks in Balochistan.
Despite these protestations from Pakistani officials, however, the International Cricket Council (ICC) decided instead to host it in Sri Lanka as this move shows growing tensions between these two nations.
Tests
Pakistan and Bangladesh have long been fierce rivals in Test cricket. Their matches regularly draw large TV audiences and can have an immense effect on global rankings, but recently political tensions have intensified their contests further. One such spark for tension was triggered by an attack in India-administered Kashmir that both nations blame on each other; some commentators have since proposed that both teams play their games at neutral venues rather than playing each other’s countries directly.
India and Pakistan signed an agreement last year stating they would avoid traveling to each other’s home nations for international events, though third-party locations such as Sri Lanka can still host matches between each nation.
Therefore, Pakistan’s move not to attend a match against India at Colombo could set a precedent that other nations follow when participating in future tournaments.
Bangladesh have historically fallen short against Pakistan across all Codes, yet their surge since 2010 has brought competitiveness, interesting contests and new narratives into this South Asian rivalry. From World Cup upsets to Asia Cup thrillers – this timeline showcases one of cricket’s most fascinating and captivating rivalries.
Since the dawn of Test cricket, victory has always been determined by which side scored more runs than their rival. As such, most games end in either victory for one side or the other; very rarely (fewer than twice in over 2000 Tests played), did scores even out and result in a tie game.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will likely meet for their next ODI on 15 February in Dhaka. This clash occurs amid political unrest between South Asian neighbours, with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fleeing into India following protests over her government’s refusal to extradite an Indian national arrested on blasphemy charges back. A boycott by Pakistan would not impact its result but would cost PCB revenue and Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium ticket sales would suffer significantly as a result.
Streaming
Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket matches often draw huge television audiences – last year’s Champions Trophy final drew over 600 million worldwide! Their ODI series should provide plenty of entertainment as they have long held a fiery rivalry that should make for plenty of drama throughout.
Both countries are currently facing political unrest. Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced out by mass demonstrations last summer and fled to India where she has accused Indian government of endangering her life and requested the return of student leader killed by Indian police.
A recent attack against tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir has added further strain between these neighbouring nations.
Pakistan’s decision to skip their World Cup match against India in Sri Lanka could prompt sanctions from the International Cricket Council, according to their rules which state: A team shall not play matches when scheduled in countries with risk of violence, intimidation, or security issues.”
Pakistan was also told they must forfeit two points from their group stage games, reducing their chances of progressing further and costing Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium significant ticket sales and sponsorship revenues due to boycott.
The International Cricket Council has historically sanctioned countries that withdraw from multination tournaments for security concerns.
Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka were fined in recent years after withdrawing in order to support their government, although the ICC strives to avoid setting any precedent that undermines neutrality or fairness at their events.
