RR vs KKR

Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are two of the oldest teams in Indian Premier League history, boasting some of the most exciting matches and engaging in an intense rivalry.

Their official motto is Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo (Perform Fight Win). Since 2008 they have won three IPL titles each. Nokia initially was their primary sponsor until 2014; then Gionee took over.

Riyan Parag’s 95-run innings helped the Royals narrow the gap on their target in the final over, hitting five sixes off Varun Chakaravarthy to be named Man of the Match for his effort.

Royals failed to complete the run chase as they were bowled out for just 206 in 13 overs, having lost two wickets during powerplay and found themselves at 71-5 with an overwhelming task ahead of them.

Andre Russell produced classic hitting to help KKR reach their target easily while remaining unbeaten on 57 off 19 balls and supported by Rinku Singh who hit 31 off six balls as KKR won by 21 runs.

Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag began their opening partnership slowly as they struggled to put runs on the board, before finding some form in the 13th over and unleashing some big blows and boundaries off Harshit Rana for 94 before Hetmyer struck with one last ball for an impressive boundary that brought them up to 147-6 with 22 needed off their final over.

The Royals have had issues this season with their bowling, specifically their spinners. After letting Ravi Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal leave via auction, they have struggled to find suitable replacements for them.

Both Theekshana Nanavati and Hasaranga de Silva have been tested out, but neither possess the control or wicket-taking ability of their predecessors – something which could become an enormous hurdle for the Royals going into this game.

At their disposal is James Faulkner – their star bowler in IPL who has been sidelined due to injury – but this will give them confidence as their top bowler is expected to return soon for their home match against Mumbai – this could prove key in maintaining top spot on the table.

RR vs SRH

As the top four teams in the IPL table vie for two spots, SRH will look to maintain their impressive form. Led by World Cup- and test-winning captain Pat Cummins of Australia, they have shown some stellar cricket so far this season – led by Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head’s outstanding batting performances while wicket-keeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen anchoring their middle order has shown promise.

SRH boasts a powerful bowling side, led by T Natrajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in pace bowling as well as Mayank Markande and Abhishek Sharma for spin, providing both control and wicket-taking opportunities. A mix of youth and experience, this team should not be overlooked!

Rajasthan Royals have faltered since an impressive start in this tournament, suffering losses against CSK and RCB but coming close against KKR (coming within 50 runs of victory). Therefore, their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad will be crucial if they want to secure a playoff berth.

Even after losing both openers early, RR fought hard back and were rewarded with brilliant centuries from Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel.

Unfortunately for them though, their batsmen could only hold out so long and eventually were reduced to 242/7 with Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey making key contributions.

After an initially slow start, SRH swiftly reached 100 in just six overs thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant hundred and Ishan Kishan’s unbeaten fifty – as well as contributions from lower order batsmen such as NKR and Klaasen – as they powered past.

While SRH have shown their batting prowess so far, their bowling will prove the deciding factor. James Faulkner has been particularly effective against Rajasthan Royals this season; taking five wickets against them between two matches.

With his ability to deceive batsmen with slower deliveries while swinging the ball effectively will pose an immense challenge to their batting unit.

This will be the fourth meeting between these two sides in IPL history and each previous encounter was exciting and dramatic.

Their last encounter saw SRH come out victorious by eight wickets with only 11 balls remaining, setting up another tight contest on Monday evening.

Both teams are tied on points and should provide for an exciting match on Monday evening; past games between these sides have demonstrated how difficult they can be to beat on home ground; in particular SRH are currently reigning champions having won five out of their seven home matches to date and have unbeaten all H2H matches against RR in this competition – something only these teams have managed since March!
