Kohli’s 43

India captain Virat Kohli led his side to a commanding win against Windies in Trinidad’s third and final One Day International (ODI).

Kohli scored an unbeaten 114 off 126 balls with 12 fours and three sixes to help India meet an impossible target of 255 under adverse conditions. India sealed their title 2-0 series victory with ease as their win cemented their position at the top.

Chris Gayle scored an unflinching 72 in what appeared to be his final ODI innings; however, Virat Kohli’s masterful bowling proved too much.

Once Gayle was trapped lbw by Nandre Burger, Kohli used his ability to rotate strikes and stabilise the innings by creating a 136-run second wicket stand with Rohit Sharma (57 off 51 balls).

Young Shreyas Iyer made a valiant attempt to bring back the chase, raising an important 120-run partnership with Kohli that brought their side closer to victory.

But the RCB captain wasn’t finished yet as he hit two more sixes and one four to keep his side within striking distance of victory.

Kohli completed his innings with an outstanding 67-ball hundred to bring up his 50th One Day International century and become only fourth all time behind Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, and Brendon McCullum for ton totals in history. Jason Holder will surely remain wary of India batter Virat Kohli after witnessing such heroics under leaden skies.

Pandya’s 2-17

All-rounder Yuzvendra Chahal arrived just when India needed him most, striking four sixes and two fours in 28 balls to help the hosts fight back and remain competitive.

His swift all-round performance brought back momentum into their innings by increasing India’s scoring rate over eight runs per over.

Pandya’s impressive strikeout spell of two 17s in four overs included Aiden Markram (34) and Dean Elgar (25) as South Africa found it hard to get going with their innings.

Donovan Ferreira was caught at gully off an innocent delivery before Pandya got David Miller out when he edged to Jitesh Sharma at slip.

Although India faltered during the power play and middle overs, they rallied late to seize control of the game. After taking an initial lead after lunch, India quickly increased their momentum as Kohli’s unbeaten century kept up pressure.

But the pivotal moment came in the final over, when a mishit off Kohli’s backfoot was called out as no-ball by umpire Karim Ashar and was later dismissed by Pakistan bowler Shoaib Malik for obstruction.

An obviously distressed Kohli stormed onto the field of play in anger before eventually being sent back into dugout after offering an apology to Karim Ashar for his behavior – with Royal Challengers Bangalore ultimately winning by six runs to end their 18-year IPL title drought; truly an epic match!

Salt’s 2-18

RCB and Punjab Kings battled hard in an emotional match that resulted in a memorable win for RCB, making history and delighting cricket fans across Bengaluru as they finally ended an 18-year title drought with this victory.

Since the inception of IPL, these two teams have met 37 times; with RCB winning 19 and PBKS 18 victories respectively. But their most recent encounter was truly memorable; an intense thriller which contained all the hallmarks of an epic contest with an exciting, nail-biting conclusion.

Chris Gayle of RCB scored an outstanding individual performance of 117 runs while KL Rahul scored 132 not out for Punjab – these two put up an unprecedented partnership totaling 206 runs for the first wicket and setting off this fixture on its path toward glory.

Punjab bowler Piyush Chawla claimed four wickets against RCB – this being his third consecutive match taking at least two wickets against them.

Shepherd’s 2-2

Royal Challengers Bangalore finally won the Indian Premier League after 18 years and 267 matches – as well as three heartbreaking final defeats!

Their 2025 final against Punjab Kings was an exciting high-stakes match that had fans on edge throughout.

This victory represented an important turning point in their franchise’s story as it changed from promises broken to performances delivered.

Since the IPL began, RCB and KXIP have met 37 times, with RCB winning 19 out of 18 encounters while Piyush Chawla from Punjab holds the record for best bowling figures against RCB with 4/17 at Dharamsala during IPL 2011.

Chris Gayle’s 57-ball 117 led RCB to their highest total against PBKS ever seen at Bengaluru that day – 241/7 after bowling out their hosts for only 88 runs in their chase – remaining as one of two joint highest totals by any team in this fixture.

Additionally, Shaun Marsh’s unbeaten 51-ball 74 in 2016 against Kolkata is both Punjab player’s highest individual score against RCB as well as being bowler-specifically the highest individual bowler score in this fixture!

Kohli’s 69 not out

Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bengal (RCB) finally ended their 18-year title drought on Monday with an exciting win against Punjab Kings by just 6 runs to lift the trophy for the first time ever. Kohli played his part in this victory by scoring 43 off 35 balls and leading RCB to an imposing total of 190/9.

His attempts at stabilising their innings by rotating strikes paid dividends while others batted around him successfully.

Kohli was also a standout in the field and made some key saves during their run chase. This earned him plenty of praise on social media; many called him an “icon”, while RCB teammate Rohit Sharma even commented that Kohli’s performance was “true testament of his class”.

Salt’s 57 not out

Salt’s 27-ball half century never let Royal Challengers of Bengal (RCB) feel any pressure of the run chase, with Agarawal contributing an opening partnership of 67 runs before departing.

Captain Dhoni struck two sixes off Musheer Khan and one boundary off Agarawal to help RCB reach the target with 60 balls remaining – it marked IPL Playoffs/Knockouts largest victory margin when chasing.

Punjab Kings will need to beat either Punjab Titans or Gujarat Titans before reaching final four. Shreyas Iyer will look forward to facing Gujarat Titans when their second eliminator opponent occurs later today; Shreyas Iyer will hope for better fortune when facing Gujarat Titans!
